This sculpture draws inspiration from the Mother Goddess of Amlash, an ancient archetype associated with fertility, abundance, protection, and spiritual renewal. Reinterpreted through a contemporary sculptural language, the figure is transformed into a modern presence that bridges ancestral belief systems with present-day experience. Rather than illustrating myth directly, the work evokes cultural memory and symbolic continuity. It reflects how ancient ideas of blessing, rebirth, and protection continue to resonate, positioning the sculpture as a quiet mediator between the past and the emotional and spiritual landscape of the contemporary human.

Pantea Mahrou is an Iranian contemporary artist whose practice explores fragmentation, memory, displacement, feminine experience and inherited political histories. Through layered material and spatial processes, her work examines visibility, erasure, silence and concealment, revealing how bodies, domestic spaces and emotional landscapes carry traces of trauma, migration, censorship and political transformation.
