Sarah Meyohas’ practice operates at the intersection of art, economics, and technology, examining how images are produced, circulated, and assigned value within contemporary culture. Working across photography and conceptual systems, she often constructs highly controlled visual environments that interrogate desire, repetition, and the mechanics of perception.
In Red Speculation (2014), a carefully staged composition unfolds through mirrored planes that create a recursive, tunnel-like effect, drawing the viewer into an infinite sequence of reflections. The monochromatic red palette heightens the work’s sense of intensity and artificiality, while the fragmented depiction of the body introduces a tension between sensuality and abstraction. Through this interplay of repetition, surface, and colour, Meyohas explores the seductive logic of images and the ways in which they multiply and transform within contemporary visual economies.
