Zohar Fraiman’s practice engages with contemporary visual culture, combining figurative painting with references drawn from popular media, advertising, and digital imagery. Her work often juxtaposes familiar, nostalgic motifs with subtle distortions, exploring themes of identity, consumerism, and the blurred boundaries between reality and constructed images.

In Fun Do (2021), a group of figures gathered around a table evokes a convivial, domestic scene, disrupted by the presence of an animated, cartoon-like character integrated into the composition. The contrast between the naturalistic rendering of the figures and the stylised, pop-cultural intrusion introduces a sense of dissonance, while the warm palette and soft lighting maintain an atmosphere of familiarity. Through this interplay, Fraiman reflects on the saturation of contemporary life by mediated imagery, where fiction and reality coexist within everyday experience.
