Peter Linde Busk’s practice centres on expressive, often dreamlike figuration, drawing on literature, mythology, and personal imagery to construct ambiguous, psychologically charged scenes. His works are characterised by muted, textured surfaces and fluid, distorted forms, where figures emerge and dissolve within atmospheric landscapes.
In Tannhäuser (Green Sky) (2014), a solitary figure appears seated within a sparse, abstracted environment, its form elongated and partially obscured by layered paint and tonal shifts. The subdued palette and soft transitions between figure and ground create a sense of quiet introspection, while the reference to Tannhäuser—rooted in Germanic legend—introduces a narrative undercurrent of longing and transformation. Through this interplay of literary reference and painterly ambiguity, Busk creates a composition that resists fixed interpretation, inviting a more intuitive, emotional reading.
