Frozen Moments, a solo show
Janet Rady Fine Art is pleased to present Frozen Moments, a solo online exhibition by Holland Cunningham, on view from 16 February to 20 March on the gallery’s website and Artsy channel.
In this new body of work, Cunningham captures suspended fragments of everyday life: children mid-gesture in dense greenery, figures paused at the edge of water, houses bathed in late light. Each painting isolates a fleeting instant and holds it in a state of contemplative stillness.
Rendered with loose yet deliberate brushwork, Cunningham’s compositions oscillate between clarity and dissolution. The works evoke moments of childhood curiosity, domestic intimacy and suburban familiarity, yet they resist narrative closure, leaving space for the viewer’s own recollections to surface.
Green becomes a recurring atmospheric force throughout the exhibition, functioning both as landscape and psychological field. Light flickers across grass and water, while gestures remain subtly unresolved, as if time itself has slowed.
Frozen Moments invites viewers to consider how memory edits and preserves experience: what is kept, what fades, and what lingers suspended in the mind.
