Eternal Echoes | Nadira Azzouz
Janet Rady Fine Art is delighted to present “Eternal Echoes,” an online exhibition featuring 23 powerful works by contemporary Iraqi artist Nadira Azzouz (1927-2020). Opening on Monday, 24 February and available on our website and Artsy channel until 28 March, this exhibition offers an intimate journey into the interplay of time, memory, and art.
In Azzouz’s evocative canvases, time emerges not merely as a sequence of moments but as a transformative force—one that shapes our past and heralds our future. Her work reflects an enduring fascination with the cyclical nature of existence, where every fleeting instant resonates with an eternal echo. Through her masterful use of colour and form, she captures the ephemeral quality of life and transforms it into visual poetry.
Central to “Eternal Echoes” are the recurring figures that populate Azzouz’s oeuvre. Celestial motifs, such as the luminous moons seen in titles like “Harvest Moon I” and “Moonchild,” evoke the mystique of night and the eternal cycles of nature. Figures emerge from layers of colour and texture, their fluidity suggesting memory, transformation, and the passage of time. These elements coalesce to create a dialogue between the infinite expanse of time and the personal milestones that define our lives.
“Nadira Azzouz’s work invites us to pause and reflect on the inexorable passage of time,” said Giorgia Cioni, Director of Business at Janet Rady Fine Art. “In ‘Eternal Echoes,’ we see a meditation on life’s impermanence, where personal history and celestial rhythms converge in a celebration of memory and legacy.”
