Artscoops is pleased to announce ‘Dancing Around the Fire’ – a celebration of contemporary African art featuring the work of several exciting emerging African artists on a theme that has its roots in nostalgia and traditional customs.
Featured artists include: Joshua Donkor, a Ghanian-British painter; Jules Disso, an emerging Cameroonian visual artist; Muramuzi JohnBosco, a contemporary and graffiti artist from Uganda; Affen Segun, a self-taught Nigerian artist; and Dusabe King Christian a multi-disciplinary, visual artist based in Rwanda.
The title refers to the age-old African custom of families and neighbours from villages and tribes gathering around an outdoor fire to chat in the evenings, long before technology and electricity shifted so many activities indoors.
Don’t miss this opportunity to own a work from this show in which past traditions are given contemporary interpretations by emerging talents from a continent that is currently a major talking point on the global art scene.
