Enoch Chinweuba

Biography

Born in 1997 Kano, Nigeria. Enoch Chinweuba is a contemporary visual artist and Illustrator from Enugu, Nigeria working as a traditional artist and illustrator professionally since 2015.

Enoch Started his artistic journey from his household contributing to professional creative work in an art-stringed family of five. Having started digitally illustrating just at the age of 10; painting digital backgrounds for his brother who was an animator, it was almost inevitable to stray from a career as a professional artist.

In 2014, post-secondary school; Enoch decided to develop his interest in traditional art skills by drawing portraits of his family and friends and went on to develop a career as a painter and illustrator being prolific at both. Throughout his career he has been part of several international art exhibitions and exciting publications for his illustration work. Traditionally, he works using acrylic as his primary medium. His narrative revolves around enlightening Africans on the effects that the history of slavery and racism has had on African people in finding cultural identity; Trying to bring to light the subtle effects of whitewashing amongst the African people.
