Lindsey Jean McLean
Cord, 2022
£150

During lock down of 2020 I was making small watercolour paintings. Painting on this scale opened up a playfulness in my work and is how many of the recurring motifs I use start in these watercolours. ‘Cord’ is my first painting of 2022 and the telephone cord is a new object within my work. In this painting, the cord feels like a snake that wraps and binds, and symbolizes how our phones have become an extension of conceptual ourselves.
